See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. HEATHWAY: THE PATH WE'RE WALKING TOGETHER

SLOGAN: 2025   “Heathway, the path we’re walking together”   Why Heathway? Heathway  brings together two simple, evocative words: ·         Heath  – an open, uncultivated stretch of land, often wild, yet beautiful. It suggests nature, possibility, and a sense of journeying into a space not yet tamed. Spiritually, it can represent the wilderness where transformation happens — where encounters, trials, and growth occur. ·         Way  – a path, a direction, a journey. It implies movement, intentionality, and the idea of being on a meaningful road — not just physically, but spiritually.   Extracted from the ‘Evolution of names’ by Ndumiso Mnkandla

HEATHWAY HONORS ISHMAEL GONDWE

Image
Honoring Ishmael Gondwe: A Heartfelt Thank You for His Thoughtful Gift to Heathway SDA Church I n every church community, there are those special individuals whose acts of service shine with quiet dignity and sincere purpose. Today, we take a moment to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to Brother Ishmael Gondwe for a gesture that may seem simple at first glance but carries immense meaning: the creation of a beautiful blackboard for the pulpit, inscribed with the name "Heathway SDA Church." This blackboard is more than just a piece of church furniture—it is a symbol of unity, dedication, and identity. It now stands proudly on our pulpit, reminding us each Sabbath of who we are and the mission we uphold as a church family. The clear and carefully crafted inscription is not only functional for our services and presentations, but it also enhances the dignity and presence of the pulpit itself. Brother Gondwe’s initiative is a powerful reminder that service...

THE SEVENTH DAY

"The Seventh Breath" From the Voice of God In the hush before the world was stirred, I shaped the dark with living word. Six days I sang through formless deep, Then called the light—and sowed the sleep. The mountains rose at My decree, The oceans knelt, then roared for Me. The stars I flung with joy and art, Each heartbeat born within My heart. Yet on the seventh, I withdrew— Not out of need, but to imbue This day with rest, a holy flame, A space where silence speaks My name. Not idly spent, nor void of thought, But full with all the peace I wrought. Creation paused, and so did I, To teach the world to lift its eye. O man, O daughter made from dust, This day I give, in love, not just To stop the work your hands might do, But so your soul might dwell with true. No temple grand, no fire or stone Could match the stillness of My throne When Sabbath breathes upon the land— A whispered touch, My unseen hand. Come walk with Me, no burden bear. Lay down ...

A Beacon at Heathway

A Beacon at Heathway At Heathway Church, where hearts entwine, A sacred flame begins to shine— Not just within the chapel walls, But down each street, through Windsor's halls. Their love, not bound by pew or creed, Extends to every soul in need. A handshake, meal, or silent prayer— They offer more than just their care. The doors swing wide for those unknown, No one at Heathway walks alone. Their voices lift in hymns so pure, A balm that helps the hurt endure. In Windsor West, where cold winds blow, Their warmth brings life like morning’s glow. A stranger stops and finds a friend, Where grace and kindness never end. Not perfect, no—but faithful, true, Their love is stitched in all they do. From Sabbath rest to weekday toil, They till with joy this sacred soil. O Heathway hearts, so full and free, Your love is light for all to see. A lamp on hills, a living spark— You warm the world when days grow dark.

The Evolution of Names: How We Arrived at Heathway

The Evolution of Names: How We Arrived at Heathway Choosing a name is never a simple task. It carries weight, identity, and a vision for the future. Whether it's for a person, a place, or a new venture, a name is often the first introduction — a statement of purpose and personality. The journey that led to the name Heathway was one marked by deep reflection, rich suggestions, and a desire to capture something timeless, meaningful, and grounded. A Shortlist Steeped in Tradition In the early stages of discussion, several names were proposed — each one rich with biblical and spiritual resonance. Names like Ebenezer , Bethel , and Beulah quickly rose to the top. These were not random choices; they were steeped in sacred heritage. Ebenezer , meaning "stone of help," is a name tied to divine assistance and remembrance. It evokes the image of a landmark set up to acknowledge God’s faithfulness. Bethel , which means "house of God," holds a place of great re...
